The Cool Solutions Company provides professional consulting services on a worldwide basis, in three focused areas:

  • Thermal Energy Storage (TES)
  • District Cooling (DC)
  • Turbine Inlet Cooling (TIC)

•  Thermal Energy Storage (TES) - We assist in identifying, optimizing, and executing successful applications of cool TES systems, which provide peak load management (and often, substantial capital cost savings) for large air-conditioning or process cooling applications, for a wide range of commercial, industrial, institutional, and government facilities. Our staff has personally participated in the design and installation of over 100 large TES systems on five continents, totaling millions of ton-hours of storage, and representing hundreds of megawatts of peak power load management.

•  District Cooling (DC) - We assist in the successful commercial and technical development of large centralized cooling systems, which often act as a thermal utility that generates and sells cooling (as chilled water) to multiple customers under long-term contracts. Our staff has been personally involved in the successful development of dozens of such DC systems on three continents, totaling hundreds of thousands of tons of cooling.

•  Turbine Inlet Cooling (TIC) - We assist in evaluating, designing, and executing optimum methods for dramatically increasing the hot-weather power output and efficiency of gas turbine power plants through the use of various TIC technologies. Our staff has experience with numerous TIC projects on large and small turbines, both new and retrofit, in the U.S. and elsewhere, economically enhancing hot-weather power output by 20 to 30%.
