The Cool Solutions Company provides professional consulting services on a worldwide basis, in three focused areas:
|
Thermal Energy Storage (TES) Thermal Energy Storage (TES) has long been used to reduce operating energy costs associated with on-peak electricity and demand charges. It is also commonly employed in new construction and at times of retrofit expansions or chiller replacements. By sizing chiller plants for average (rather than peak) cooling loads, TES often results in capital cost savings as well. 21st century energy users will obtain even greater benefits from the flexibility that TES provides to manage peak power in future energy markets . TES systems can employ latent heat storage (such as ice TES or eutectic salt TES) or sensible heat storage (such as stratified chilled water TES or patented SoCool® low temperature fluid TES). Cool Solutions Experience and Achievements in TES Personally involved in TES projects since the late 1970s, the Cool Solutions staff is experienced with the various TES technologies and their individual advantages and limitations for specific applications. Our staff's achievements include:
Professional Involvement and Leadership in TES The Cool Solutions staff has long been actively involved in the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Technical Committee for Thermal Storage. The staff also served as chair of the ARI (Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute) Thermal Storage Equipment Section, with a leading role in the development of ARI's TES performance rating standard. Customized Products and Services for TES We provide services to suit the unique needs of our individual clients.
